What It’s Like to Begin Counselling at Via Counselling

Most people who come to counselling aren’t sure what to expect. They just know something needs to feel different.

Hi, I'm Corey, registered psychotherapist (qualifying).

Maybe you’ve been holding it all together, showing up for work, family, and friends, while quietly running on fumes. Maybe conversations with your partner seem to always end as arguments, or the distance between you feels harder to ignore.

Maybe you just know something has to shift, even if you can’t name what yet.

Counselling gives you space to slow down and listen differently, to what hurts, what helps, and what might be ready to change. That might mean understanding your own patterns, or it might mean rebuilding connection and communication with someone you care about.

When we meet, there’s no pressure to have the right words or the perfect story. We’ll take it one step at a time.

I offer warmth, honesty, and curiosity in our sessions, along with humour and real talk that may involve the occasional f-bomb, but always with care for your pace and your nervous system.

I work with both individuals, couples, and parents with adult children who want to understand themselves and each other better. Whether it’s navigating burnout, conflict, ADHD, autism, or just the feeling that you’ve lost touch with your own voice — there’s room for all of it here.

I’m a registered psychotherapist (qualifying), which means I’m in the final stage of my residency. While I complete my licensing hours, my session fees are lower — $100 for individuals and $150 for relationship counselling — so therapy can be more accessible without sacrificing quality or depth.

If you’re ready to stop just getting by and start feeling more connected, to yourself, your partner, or your life, I look forward to meeting you.

Small steps. Big changes.

Therapy for adults, partners, parents, and adult children.
