Low-Fee Counselling
My current fees are $100 per session for individuals and $150 for couples..
These reduced rates will be available while I complete my psychotherapy residency, which is indicated by the “qualifying” designation. During this stage, I am practicing under supervision and completing the client hours and licensing requirements needed to advance to the next level of registration.

Keeping my fee lower during this stage also allows me to offer accessible counselling while maintaining a high standard of care.

About Me
Corey Skrypnek, registered psychotherapist (qualifying)
Owner of Via Counselling Services Ltd.
I provide individual and relationship counselling in a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself.

I believe each of us develops ways of navigating life’s challenges, and within those patterns lies resilience, strength, and possibility. Yet some coping strategies that once helped us survive may begin to hold us back.
My role as a therapist is to walk alongside you on your unique journey—honouring your story, your pace, and the hope you carry, even when it feels out of reach.
Together, we can explore new directions, creating space for growth, connection, and the life you want to build—one where you can trust your own strengths and wisdom.

My foundational approach is person-centred therapy, and my main modality is emotionally-focused therapy. I also draw on interventions from narrative therapy, ACT and CBT. I have completed level I of the Gottman Method.

I value diversity and practice with cultural humility. I welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities.

I offer in-person counselling in Langdon, Alberta, just outside of Calgary.

I also offer virtual counselling across Alberta.

Experiences I Focus On
Individual Counselling
Burnout
Burnout can leave you feeling depleted, disconnected, and unsure of how to move forward. In counselling, we focus on uncovering the strengths and resilience you already carry, while creating new ways to restore balance, energy, and meaning in your life. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that are no longer serving you and build pathways toward renewal, self-compassion, and sustainable change.
Neurodivergence - ADHD and Autism
Discovering you are neurodivergent—whether through a late diagnosis or self-identification—can bring a mix of emotions. For many, there is grief for the years spent misunderstood or struggling without support, and at the same time relief in finally having language that makes sense of long-held experiences. Counselling offers a space to honour both grief and discovery, to process what this new understanding means for your past and present, and to explore how your unique way of being can become a source of strength and self-compassion. Together, we can make sense of your story, celebrate your identity, and chart a path that feels authentic to who you are.
People-Pleasing & Co-Dependence
Caring deeply for others and striving for harmony are meaningful strengths—but when they come at the expense of your own needs, they can leave you feeling drained or disconnected from yourself. Patterns of people-pleasing or codependence often begin as ways to maintain closeness, create safety, or avoid conflict. Over time, though, they may make it harder to feel balanced, authentic, or truly seen in your relationships. Counselling offers a supportive space to explore where these patterns come from, how they’ve helped you, and how you can begin to honour your own needs alongside your care for others. Together, we’ll nurture healthy boundaries, foster self-trust, and strengthen authentic connections—so your compassion includes yourself, too.

Partners
Every relationship moves through seasons—times of closeness, times of strain, and life transitions. The emotional load of work, family, or health challenges can weigh heavily on a partnership, making it harder to stay connected. I offer a supportive space where both partners can feel heard, understood, and respected. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you stuck, the stressors that feel overwhelming, and the strengths that have carried you this far. This isn’t about blame—it’s about creating space for trust, repair, and growth, so you can face challenges as a team and move forward in ways that feel authentic to both of you.

All relationships are welcome in my practice.
Parents and Adult Children
The bond between parents and adult children is one of the most significant—and sometimes one of the most painful—relationships we carry. Estrangement, whether through conflict, silence, or growing distance, can bring grief, guilt, and a longing for understanding. In counselling, we create a safe space for both voices to be heard, for painful patterns to be explored with compassion, and for new ways of relating to take shape. Our work together isn’t about erasing the past, but about building the possibility of connection that feels authentic, respectful, and sustainable for everyone involved.
